My Momma said something the other day to me, that has been rattling around in my head for days now . . . You know those pearls before swine kind of thing . . . Or in this case, Margaritas before red heads.
I think every one thinks they have the best momma in the world . . . I know I do. She is my best friend! It's just that simple, I would rather spend time with her than just about anyone else . . . I tell her my secrets, (Well, heck that isn't saying much, I tell EVERYONE my secrets~ I'm kind of funny like that.) But not everyone tells their momma all their business. I'm sure she has a lot of moments where she thinks to herself, "I really don't want to hear this, can't this girl shut up!" But she never says that, she just nods and smiles! She is the most amazing person I know, and when I grow up, I hope to be EXACTLY like her.
Me and my sweet momma
So, there we were, just she and I, sitting and waiting for the other girls to get to girls night. We were sipping on our margaritas . . . and chatting. And she said, "I don't think, any man has ever appreciated you the way they should have. You have a lot to offer."
Wow!!! I didn't know she thought that . . . Well, maybe I did, but I had never expected to hear her say it. How ever true it may be. (I know all momma's think they have the best kids . . . and want the best for them and need to push their kids to be better, and want more . . . . My momma is no different.)
She is right, no man, (other than my daddy, and my oldest brother Roy) has ever appeciated me.
I have been arm candy, I have been savior, I have been mama "Warbucks", I have been decorator, I have beeen comedian, I have been a lover, I have been a friend, I have been . . . Oh so many things, but have they ever seen the entire package . . .
Being on line, on this dating site has been fodder for my mind . . . Do they just see my outside and NOT want to get to know the other parts of me?
Are we the sum of all our parts?
Are we the sum of all the rolls we have played in life?
Will there ever come a time when a cowboy will come riding out of one of my books and sweep me away with him? Or will I simply always have a dude wrapped up in tin foil pretending he is a knight in shining armor?
